VIZ Steel sums up results of social programmes in 2020
VIZ Steel (part of NLMK Group) allocated over RUB 22 million for implementation of social programmes in 2020. The Company provided funds for recovery of workers and their children, allowances to large families and single mothers, support for company’s veterans and partner orphanage.
Financing of the projects on health preservation of employees and their family members accounted for around RUB 13 million. Under the voluntary health insurance programme, around 200 employees had rest in Russian resorts and got medical treatment in clinics of Yekaterinburg. Around 100 children of employees spent the summer holidays in health improvement and sport camps, got medical treatment in resorts by Mother and Child vouchers. The Company maintains the programme of medical insurance against critical diseases, incidents at work and in the community for its employees. A health post works 24/7 in the Company where services on preventive examination and medical services, free vaccination and physiotherapy are rendered to employees.
During the pandemic, the charity fund Miloserdie (social partner of NLMK Group) provided additional support to over 1,000 working and retired employees of the Company. The Company’s veterans received packages with groceries and essentials. Families of employees that have three or more underage children or are raising children with disabilities received financial support. More than RUB 2.5 million were allocated to these measures.
Partner social institution Karavella received traditional charity support. VIZ Steel financed security services, purchases of furniture and sport accessories. The Company allocated targeted material assistance to graduates.
Development of volunteer movement in the Company became a large scale social programme. Last year, around 150 employees cleaned and improved municipal area, collected goods for those who are in need, helped animal shelters and carried out other moves. In the pandemic, volunteers took the Company’s veterans under patronage: they helped to buy medicines and essentials, delivered gifts. Amid the coronavirus outbreak, they explained importance of using masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers, of social distancing and of following personal hygiene rules.
