VIZ Steel improves safety culture on site
VIZ Steel (part of NLMK Group) launched the complex educational programme Safe Start which is aimed at improvement of safety culture on site. Its target is to help every employee to recognize risks in advance in various situations, at work and at home, to consciously control his/her behaviour, to analyse errors and effectively eliminate them.
The training will take place from August to October and will cover employees of all Company’s subdivisions. Safe Start is based on a set of advanced methods that have effectively proven themselves in the world practice. 18 specially trained internal coaches of the Company will present training modules “I look at what I am doing and I think of what I am doing”, “Hurry, frustration, fatigue, negligence”, “Critical errors elimination techniques”, and others.
Around RUB 10 million will be invested to the programme.
Health of employees and safe working conditions are priorities of VIZ Steel business. “Safe Start programme was launched to improve corporate safety culture and more than 3,000 companies in the world have already evaluated the effectiveness of this programme. After passing the special training course we would like our employees to learn to stop on time and not to do critical mistakes which will lead to injuries. We expect at least 30% reduction in industrial injury risks following the training” – Stanislav Olkov, Director General of VIZ Steel, noted
