Water treatment facility upgrade
VIZ-Steel began commercial operation of the new generation filtering system in the water treatment plant. Thanks to the replacement of the worn-out equipment, it was possible to increase the reliability of the treatment system for industrial effluents and to reduce the risk of unplanned downtime. The new filter press is designed for dewatering of the residue that is generated after sedimentation of effluents from the flattening annealing line of the cold rolling mill. Cleaned water is re-used in the closed return water supply cycle of the company. Apart from improving the operational stability of the filtering system, the project allowed reducing the energy consumption. Thanks to implementation of energy efficient technology, energy consumption of the system decreased by 6-8%. The cost of the investment project was RUR 40 mln.
